At CESO, a Landscape Designer will work as part of the Landscape Architecture team, supporting the development of aesthetic, functional, and environmentally responsive site designs. Under the guidance of senior team members, a Landscape Designer will assist in the preparation of construction documents, graphic presentations, and technical analyses. This position provides foundational experience in landscape architectural practice, including exposure to site planning, planting design, grading, and detailing. A Landscape Designer will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to support project goals and professional development objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Under the direction of senior team members, assist in the preparation of landscape architectural construction documents, including site layout, hardscape, planting, irrigation, and lighting plans
Support the development of 2D and 3D visualizations using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Lumion
Assist in due diligence efforts by conducting research on site conditions, environmental constraints, jurisdictional and ordinance requirements, and document all findings
Participate in internal project meetings and contribute to design discussions
Perform revisions as marked up and directed by senior team members and self-check completed work for accuracy and compliance with company standards
Assist in the coordination of design elements with other disciplines, including civil engineering and architecture
Prepare base files and convert digital data into usable formats for design and documentation
Participate in site visits to observe and document project progress and assist in preparing site reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field is required
0-3 years of professional experience in landscape architecture is preferred
Internship/Co-ops may be counted towards years of experience
Progression toward Landscape Architecture Registration is encouraged
Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Lumion, and Bluebeam
Knowledge regarding land-use activities
Experience in simultaneously balancing multiple projects is preferred
Ability to function independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Travel required on an as-needed basis
