Job Description

The town of Duxbury is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, benefit-eligible Lands & Natural Resources Manager to serve in a supervisory role within the department of Public Works, overseeing daily operations, including Tree and Grounds, Town Buildings, and the Fuel Depot. This position works under the direction of the DPW Director with significant independence in planning, organizing, and executing work activities. Responsibilities include managing staff, scheduling projects, maintaining, and ensuring high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. The role also involves budget monitoring, procurement support, vendor coordination, and responding to resident concerns, serving as Tree Warden, collaborating with Town departments, and attending public meetings as needed. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of landscaping, turf management, building maintenance, and equipment operations is essential. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree and three to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to perform essential functions. A valid Class B Driver’s License, Arborist Certification, and Pesticide License. This position includes outdoor work, exposure to varying conditions, and emergency response responsibilities.

  • Participates in public meetings, hearings, and other public involvement efforts associated with WYDOT's environmental process
  • Develops and provides training to WYDOT headquarter and field staff pertaining to the Environmental Services section and WYDOT's commitment to environmental compliance
