CRW is a growing multidiscipline engineering and surveying firm with offices in Anchorage, Palmer, and Olympia. Our staff of nearly 90 provides planning, design, and construction support services for state, municipal, federal, tribal, and private clients on projects in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. We’ve been helping build better communities for over 40 years. CRW has an opening for an experienced Land Survey Office Technician to join our Anchorage office team in support of engineering and land survey projects.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare clear, accurate and complete topographic base maps for engineering design
Perform survey data reduction and computations
Develop plan and profile drawings from collected survey data
Draft right-of-way drawings, subdivision plats and records of survey
Prepare easement parcel map exhibits and draft land descriptions
Adherence to multiple client CAD standards and requirements
Assist surveyors performing field surveys as required
Create well-organized survey drawings, documents, and other deliverables
Requirements:
Have strong verbal and written communication skills
Degree in Land Surveying/Geomatics or design/drafting technology certification preferred
Five years of applicable experience
Interpret survey drawings, maps, deeds, and engineering plans
Understanding of boundary resolution principles and ALTA survey standards
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Survey Database creating basemapping
Experience using Leica's Infinity survey software preferred
Experience with survey computations using Infinity, Microsoft Excel, or other tools
Experience with ArcGIS, Global Mapper, or other geospatial software
Task specific programming using Python, VBA, or other languages
Understanding of coordinate systems and able to use imagery with AutoCAD applications
Knowledge of State of Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Municipality of Anchorage Project Management and Engineering, and/or Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium drafting standards
LSIT (FLS) or LSIT candidate
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice to have:
Degree in Land Surveying/Geomatics or design/drafting technology certification preferred
Experience using Leica's Infinity survey software preferred
