Job Description:

This position is a "Surveyor in Training" role, where you learn to be a Surveyor by supporting a Surveyor perform boundary surveys and staking. We are looking for a motivated individual who likes to be out in "the field" and is dedicated, loyal, hard-working, and gets satisfaction out of a full day's work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Check with Crew Chief for daily scope of work
  • Load any and all needed equipment (GPS equipment, batteries, radios, metrotech, total station, hard hats, steel toe boots & other PPE)
  • Top off and load needed survey supplies (Lath, paint, flagging spikes, red/white flags, posts & any other necessities)
  • Ensure the company vehicle is clean and ready to go for the day
  • Be prepared to drive to and from the job site
  • Set up and tear down GPS base, carry all the supplies in a lath bag, backpack or belt
  • Make sure to have enough water and anything else you may need throughout the day
  • Unload and put away equipment
  • Charge batteries
  • Check with Crew Chief before going home
  • Monday’s time is due for the previous week worked

  • Friday’s should be a day to clean equipment
  • Check with all Crew Chiefs to see if there is anything needing to be done

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 6+ months experience as a Surveying Assistant (Preferred)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 75 lbs
  • Honest, Professional, Organized, Pays Attention to detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Safety Conscious, Strong Work Ethic, Self-driven with little or no supervision
  • Must have current and valid drivers license with MVR that meets Company requirements
  • Must be willing and able to enroll in the DISA Compliance & Policy program
