Our client, a leader in the utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Lands Rights / Wayleaves Team Leader. This role focuses on expertly steering a team and advancing a personal portfolio, supervising land rights transactions involving assets such as gas, electric, fibre, and water. You will partner with a variety of stakeholders, guaranteeing timely and efficient transaction progressions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Direct the team to ensure accurate coordination with solicitors, streamlining submission processes and template document issuance
  • Establish connections with a plethora of external parties, ensuring alignment with proprietary policies and customer expectations
  • Identify and swiftly escalate potential hindrances to higher management
  • Spearhead negotiations with parties to standardise documents and process strategies
  • Champion early acquisition of authorised signatories
  • Cultivate the team's skills in negotiations and various stages of conveyancing
  • Develop professional rapport with a myriad of customers
  • Conduct annual appraisals and frequent one-on-one team reviews
  • Accurately verify invoices for payment authorisation
  • Compile statistical reports and handle additional duties as directed by management

Requirements:

  • Good grasp of fundamental land law principles (e.g., land transfer, lease, easement, wayleave) is essential
  • Prior leadership roles / ability and willingness to develop in team management
