Job Description

The Lana‘i Cultural Advisor leads and facilitates authentic Hawaiian cultural experiences, sharing the traditions, stories, and history of Lana‘i through interactive workshops and guided tours. This role delivers personalized, high-touch guest service while fostering a welcoming atmosphere rooted in aloha and Hawaiian hospitality.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and facilitate cultural workshops (e.g., hula, ʻoli, ukulele, weaving, ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi) while sharing the history, traditions, and moʻolelo of Lānaʻi
  • Create an engaging and authentic guest experience by explaining the cultural significance of each activity and fostering a welcoming atmosphere of aloha
  • Deliver warm, professional, and personalized service while maintaining guest confidentiality and upholding hospitality standards
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Lānaʻi’s culture, history, and significant sites to enhance guest education and experiences
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workplaces and ensure all materials and areas are prepared for daily activities

Requirements

  • Legal work authorization in United States
  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
  • Experience in hula, oli, ukulele, lauhala and lau nui weaving, hula implements, ohe kapala, and olelo Hawai’i.
