Requirements

1+ years of experience in set up, running & cleaning lamination machine
Mechanical & mathematical skills: Ability to read rulers, micrometer & gauges, equipment testing
Computer literacy - complete production related documentation on both computer & paper forms
Good judgment, troubleshooting & decision making skills in regards to Safety and Quality

Job Responsibility

Set up and operate Laminating Machines according to company procedures and guidelines
Manages pre-run testing of the material to ensure the correct coding weights and bond strength are applied
Job Order interpretation - uses & runs the proper amount of material/footage to the job order for production
Perform all required quality checks prior to production
Apply proper adhesive and wind rolls according to specs
Load and unload material from the laminators/trucks as needed, using defined equipment
Install/remove laminator sleeves as required for each production order
Correctly build up production orders and doctor blade assemblies
Perform daily and periodic preventative maintenance duties specified for assigned machines/equipment
Maintain daily cleanliness of machines/equipment and workplace as per GMP & SQF

Requirements

Experience operating glue laminating and/or wax laminating machines
Experience operating sheeting or packing machinery
Experience setting up machinery, including trays, pumps, pressure rolls and doctor blades
Experience using equipment such as overhead hoists, hand trucks, electric trucks, scales and viscosity cups
Knowledge of viscosity controls and their effect on colour shade control
An understanding of working tolerances and how glues, waxes and lacquers affect materials such as foil, tissue and film

Job Responsibility

Operate specialist machinery to lacquer, laminate and process aluminium foil products to defined quality standards
Set up and operate laminator machinery by preparing materials such as foil, paper and film, and applying lacquers, adhesives or waxes through tanks, pumps and trays
Monitor the process closely, loading new materials as required, identifying defective materials and carrying out quality control checks
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Operate the sheeting machine
Produce and submit initial samples for Quality Control and Team Leader approval
Work on other machines when required
Complete the necessary documentation for the job and BS 5750

2 -4 years of hands-on experience in Lamination and Slitting or a related manufacturing environment
Fill out production paperwork as required
Inspect materials to make sure they meet quality standards
Thread film through the machine and check if it matches the required size and type
Troubleshoot basic issues with the Slitter, like air pockets, folds, or wrinkles
Adjust machine temperature, pressure, and speed as needed during the lamination process
Cut off waste materials, trim, and roll laminated materials to meet machine and quality standards
Observe operation of the Slitting process for surface and quality defects

Job Responsibility

Check machine settings and safety features before starting the machines, load materials, and start operations
Learn and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for Slitting equipment
Understanding different types of materials used in the Slitting process (e.g., plastic films, paper, foil, textiles) and how they behave during lamination
Operating machines that cut laminated materials into narrower strips or sizes according to customer specifications
Ability to operate laminating equipment that applies Adhesive or Thermal to materials and bonds them together under heat and pressure
Understanding different slitting methods, including rotary slitting, razor slitting, or shear slitting, and selecting the appropriate method for the material being processed
Ability to perform minor repairs or adjustments on machines, such as replacing blades, fixing jams, or realigning machinery
Ensure that the lamination and slitting processes are operating at the correct speed and efficiency
Regularly inspecting slit materials for defects like wrinkles, gaps, or uneven thickness
Start up and shut down of the assembly line and production equipment
