Job Description

We are looking for a LabVIEW Software Engineer to join our team with HX5, a teammate company. The LabVIEW Software Engineer will perform various tests and software development tasks for NASA's deep space exploration programs.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform rocket engine hot-fire tests, reaction control system (RCS) simulations, and high-pressure fluid system testing
  • Conduct lunar and Martian environment tests, soil-based oxygen extraction experiments, and thermal-vacuum testing
  • Test fuel cells and support hardware qualification for ISS, Orion, and Artemis programs
  • Build and fabricate custom ground support equipment
  • Design and implement software for design, development, test, and certification of flight hardware
  • Gather and analyze requirements
  • Design and develop data acquisition systems for test rigs
  • Test and debug software issues
  • Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities
  • Support test setup and execution
  • Develop testing and operations documentation
  • Coordinate software development with other disciplines
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary technical reviews
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience
  • Experience with data acquisition and processing
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW for system control, system test, data storage and analysis
  • Experience with CompactRIO RT/FPGA platform
  • Experience with LabVIEW object Oriented Programming (LVOOP)
  • Experience with Git for source code control
  • Experience with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with NASA/JSC organizations, processes, and procedures
  • Prior experience with spaceflight system development
  • Experience with system interface requirements
  • Experience with common communication protocols (RS232, RS422/485, 1553, USB)
  • Knowledge of web application frameworks such as ASP.NET
