Job Description for Compliance Specialist: Regulatory Adherence and Monitoring; Statutory Filings and Documentation; Audits and Risk Management; Policy Development and Training; Liaison and Grievance Handling
Job Responsibility:
Monitor and enforce compliance with all applicable labour laws and regulations
Stay abreast of dynamic regulatory changes and new Labour Codes in India
Manage and oversee all statutory registrations, licenses, and their timely renewals
Ensure accurate and timely submission of all statutory filings, periodic returns, and compliance reports
Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation
Plan and conduct regular internal compliance audits and risk assessments
Develop and implement corrective action plans
Coordinate and facilitate external audits and government inspections
Draft, revise, and implement company-wide policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Develop and deliver compliance training sessions and awareness programs
Serve as the primary contact person for government authorities and external legal consultants
Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments
Assist in managing and handling employee grievances related to compliance issues
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience (3-6 years suggested) in a compliance, legal, or HR role with a focus on Indian labour laws
Demonstrable experience in managing end-to-end statutory documentation and filings (PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of Indian labour legislation and regulatory frameworks
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with compliance management software or tools is advantageous
Nice to have:
A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional - CCEP)
Experience working within the IT/ITES industry is preferred
