Job Description

Perform tasks involving physical labor at building and heavy construction projects to clean and prepare job sites as required to assist other craft workers such as carpenters and concrete finishers.

Job Responsibility

Remove forms from walls and columns
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones
Smooth freshly poured concrete or concrete, using shovel, come-along, or powered vibrator
Dig compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes
Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
Mop, brush, or spread paints, cleaning solutions or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection
Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools
Oversee filling of loads and coordinate delivery with foreman and crane operator
Operate jackhammers and drills to break up concrete or pavement
Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces
Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns

Requirements

Ability to perform physical labor
Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic
Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds alone
Ability to use team-lifting techniques for heavier items
Ability to stand or walk for long periods
Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and reach
Good balance and dexterity
Visual acuity to operate equipment and spot hazards
Ability to hear with or without assistance to understand instructions in noisy environments
Must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis
