Laborer

• Perform a wide variety of duties in general manual laborer work at plants, offices, yards, and quarries
• Assist in any equipment operation and servicing when needed using basic tools
• Comply with company General Conduct and Safety Rules
• Clean and dispose of waste materials, debris, residue from different locations throughout the plant
• Fill in or operate any equipment and assist operators as assigned
• Operate the water truck, sweeper, or vacuum truck as needed
• Report any potential operational or safety problems to supervision
• Assist in maintenance, repair, and installation of new or rebuilt machinery and equipment
• Cut grass, weeds, trim bushes, and hedges and perform general landscape work
• Clean out kilns
• Help load and unload railcars, trucks, or any other vehicles as assigned
• Operate a forklift both safely and efficiently
• Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations
• Perform all work assigned in a neat and orderly manner
• Perform general clean-up in all operational areas of the plant
• Perform repetitive lifting of 50-100 or more pounds when necessary
• Operate front-end loader and dump truck for clean-up work
• Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA – Food Modernization Safety Act
• Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs
• Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture
• Demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture
• Complete periodic SQF training(s)
• Actively participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance at the site

• Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
• Must have a telephone and be receptive to shift work, seven days a week
• Must be available for call outs to the plant as needed
• Must be physically able to perform work assigned
• Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations
• Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 150 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Previous labor experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred
