Job Responsibility:

  • Performs complex dry laboratory research activities, planning and conducting a complete project of limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project
  • Sets up and operates equipment
  • Modifies methods and techniques, records, computes, and analyzes test data
  • Prepares programs, specifications, designs, charts, graphs, tables, and illustrations, may assists in preparation of materials for publication
  • Plans and conducts technical procedures, non-routine and complex in nature
  • Sets up and operates sophisticated equipment or instrumentation
  • Constructs major units of equipment
  • With latitude for modifying methods and techniques, records, computes, and analyzes test data
  • Prepares test reports and makes recommendations
  • May review, analyze, and integrate technical work of others
  • Assists in psychology, sociology or education studies and experiments involving human/animal subjects
  • Prepares computer programs, schematics, specifications, designs, charts, graphs, tables, illustrations, and photographs
  • May assist in preparation of materials for publication
  • May perform specialized duties in process or service laboratories, such as photography/illustration services
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Associate's degree preferred

  • Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results
  • Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis
  • Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager
  • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas
  • May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites
  • Adhere to strict safety standards
  • Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results
  • Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager
