Job Description:

SNIPR is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Preclinical Testing team and support the reliable day-to-day execution of our in vitro experiments. At SNIPR, we develop new medicines to combat antimicrobial resistance and treat metabolic diseases. Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare agar plates with antibiotics or selective media for spotting and plaquing assays
  • Perform serial dilutions and spotting assays for bacteria and bacteriophages
  • Prepare and manage overnight bacterial and phage cultures
  • Count and enumerate bacterial colonies and phage plaques with accuracy and consistency
  • Support the preparation of materials for in vitro assays, including work with cell lines, metabolites, and peptides
  • Assist the team in day-to-day experimental preparation, ensuring workflows run smoothly and on schedule
  • Record and document methods and results in electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment

Requirements:

  • Education as Laboratory Technician or similar
  • At least 1 year of hands-on laboratory experience
  • Experience working with bacteria, including sterile technique, culturing and plating
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Ability to work carefully and consistently with repetitive, process-driven laboratory tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate execution and documentation
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple routine tasks in parallel
  • A collaborative and reliable working style

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting in vitro assays
  • Interest in laboratory automation and process optimization
  • Practical experience performing high-throughput laboratory assays
  • Experience working with bacteriophages is a plus

  • Identify defective, damaged, or non-compliant items and ensure appropriate actions are taken (repair, quarantine, or disposal)
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance where appropriate within the Service Centre capability
  • Accurately record all inspection, testing, repair, and issue activities within internal systems
  • Ensure full traceability of assets, including returned, repaired, and newly issued equipment
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and internal procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment within the Service Centre
