Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Operations Associate to oversee lab operations, maintain a clean, structured and organized laboratory while providing essential support to scientists in conducting assays, including hands-on sample preparation. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and collaborative, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Wash and restock lab supplies (pipette tips, tubes, flasks, etc.)
  • Prepare and dispose of biohazard waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lab (e.g., incubators, biosafety cabinets)
  • Manage the lab inventory and ordering process
  • Obtain quotes and place orders as needed
  • Receive, unpack, and log incoming lab materials
  • Prepare reagents, aliquots, and solutions (e.g., 70% ethanol, bleach, FBS)
  • Manage and track samples and prepare containers/media for experiments
  • Support scientists with sample preparation and assay setup
  • Assist in onboarding new lab members and provide training as needed
  • Respond to equipment alarms and emergencies
  • Collaborate with team members for sample maintenance as necessary

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent lab experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with microbiology, BSL2 lab safety and general data management practices
