Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its expanding Labor & Employment Litigation practice in Portland.

Job Responsibility

  • Assisting in all aspects of class action and single-plaintiff litigation and administrative charge work
  • Preparing position statements
  • Evaluating claims
  • Preparing for mediations, discovery, depositions
  • Drafting motions
  • Preparing cases for arbitration and trial
  • Researching federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Providing strategic thinking in avoiding and resolving employment disputes
  • Counseling HR professionals and business executives on compliance with employment laws
  • Drafting employment agreements

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant Labor & Employment Litigation experience
  • Excellent writing skills
