A sophisticated boutique litigation firm is seeking a California licensed attorney with 3+ years of employment defense experience to join its growing team. Job Responsibility:
Handle employment defense matters from inception through resolution
Draft and respond to discovery, motions, and pleadings
Take and defend depositions
Attend hearings, mediations, and client meetings
Assist with case strategy and trial preparation
Manage wage & hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and PAGA matters
Requirements:
Active California Bar license
3+ years of employment litigation defense experience
Strong writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage cases with increasing autonomy
Experience with law and motion, discovery, and depositions preferred
Trial preparation experience is a plus
At least 5 years of experience practicing employment law on the defense side
Active membership in the California Bar
Demonstrated background in employment litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and court appearances
Strong legal writing skills with the ability to prepare clear, compelling advocacy documents
Experience handling civil litigation matters independently and managing deadlines effectively
Ability to work collaboratively with senior attorneys while also taking ownership of assigned matters
J.D. from an accredited law school
Nice to have:
Experience with law and motion, discovery, and depositions preferred
Trial preparation experience is a plus
