This role is a fully remote, 6-month contract assignment designed to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills and substantial labor and employment experience, with a particular focus on union-related matters.
Job Responsibility:
Draft detailed responses to complaints and grievances, ensuring clarity and compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies
Provide legal advice and guidance related to labor and employment matters, including union-related issues
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes and maintain effective labor relations
Perform legal research and analysis pertinent to the institution’s workforce matters
Assist with overall case preparation and documentation as required
Requirements:
Active California Bar license required
Proven labor and employment experience, with expertise in union-related issues a strong advantage
Strong legal writing and analytical skills required
Litigation experience beneficial but not mandatory
Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines in a fully remote environment
