In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to certify IBM server and storage products for the worldwide market. You will conduct safety tests, Electromagnetic (EMC) test, Shock/Vibe and/or Acoustics tests as well as testing to IBM quality standards. You will engage directly with certifying agencies, contribute to product design reviews, and support testing in lab environments to validate safe operation under real-world conditions. Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to certify IBM server and storage products for the worldwide market.
Conduct safety tests, Electromagnetic (EMC) test, Shock/Vibe and/or Acoustics tests as well as testing to IBM quality standards.
Engage directly with certifying agencies, contribute to product design reviews, and support testing in lab environments to validate safe operation under real-world conditions.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to perform EMC, safety, and/or Acoustics testing.
Work with engineers to certify and secure approvals for market release.
Blend hands-on lab work, engineering and IT Administration in a technician role to support world-wide hardware compliance.
Requirements:
Technical Diploma
Familiarity with IT systems, and aptitude to install operating systems, drivers, and test software on hardware platforms.
Knowledge and ability to work with hardware components, install disks, cards and I/O adapters (along with requisite basic knowledge of hand and power tools)
Ability to learn and adapt.
Ability to follow and execute hardware test plans under the direction of engineers
Basic understanding of standards and ability to follow instructions.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to work independently and in team environments.
Creative problem-solving mindset.
Willingness to adapt to fast-paced, evolving work environments.
Clear communication and reporting skills for status updates and certification documentation.
