Job Description:

Laboratory Technician role at Climeworks, a leading carbon removal provider, focused on conducting tests, managing equipment, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining safety and compliance in a lab environment dedicated to solving climate challenges.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct routine laboratory tests and analyses according to standard procedures while maintaining timelines and quality standards
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Collect, organize, analyze and store data collected during laboratory tests
  • Input all qualified data into the lab’s database and release to appropriate shareholders
  • Implement procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Install and commission new devices, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure all instruments function reliably
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as SOPs, maintenance and error logs, and sample volume records
  • Contribute to workflow optimization by supporting method development and process automation
  • Maintain general laboratory operations - including inventories, gas and waste management, ordering, cleaning, and HSE walkthroughs
  • Work effectively within a team setting, supporting colleagues in a dynamic and fast-evolving environment

Requirements:

  • Completed education as a chemical lab technician, bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or a related field
  • Approximately 2–5 years of hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally as a laboratory technician
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and methodical, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Adapt easily to changing environments, take ownership of tasks, and maintain focus on quality and safety
  • Thrive in a team-oriented environment, communicating clearly and proactively

Nice to have:

Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., SUVA requirements)
