As a Lab Tech Coordinator, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment. Every day, you will be using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction. To be successful in this role requires an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Limited License Microbiologist possessing comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understanding sample processing and result interpretation, prioritizing chemical and biological safety, and being adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment
Using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction
Coaching laboratory personnel to train for adherence to relevant policies and ethics
Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over operational decisions
Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes
Participate in laboratory audits and inspections
Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and implement corrective actions
Generate reports on quality metrics, instrument performance, and operational efficiency
Collaborate effectively with laboratory management, medical directors, and other laboratory departments
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA
2 years of clinical lab experience in the designated lab area/speciality
CA Clinical Laboratory Science License (CLS License)
MT or CLS or MLS certification, ASCP or equivalent (preferred)
