As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries. Every day, you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests. To be successful in this role, you will possess a foundational understanding of laboratory procedures, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and maintain an eager commitment to continuous learning and professional development. The lab assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care relative to the patient's age-specific needs.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with specimen processing, including labeling, centrifuging, and aliquoting
Prepare reagents and solutions according to established protocols
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning
Assist with data entry and record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
This lab assistant will play a critical role in the Emergency Room schedule and will be required to work in the Emergency Room
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
California Phlebotomy Technician License (CA PHLEB Lic)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (AHA BLS)
Fire Safety Card required (must obtain 90 days from hire date)
Nice to have:
Lab Assistant Program certification
Phlebotomy program certificate
Six months of experience in an acute care facility
