Job Responsibility:

  • Performs activities associated with care and propagation of any animal colony involving one or more species
  • Provides complete husbandry care of laboratory animals
  • Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met
  • Assists with tasks such as administering drugs, clipping, and weighing by holding animals
  • Observes animals, reports instances of abnormal behavior, vermin infestations, temperature changes, and other conditions affecting the well-being of animals assigned
  • Inventories food and bedding materials
  • Assists in maintaining related records and preparing periodic reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and less than 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
