Job Description

The Lab Analyst - Microbiology is primarily responsible supporting lab maintenance and for completing environmental swabbing for microbiology work at the client site.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform environmental swabbing/sampling of the production area for downstream microbiological measurement
  • Receive client training on and demonstrate proficiency in climbing a ladder to take water samples
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization
  • Make microbiological media and reagents for microbiological testing
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment
  • Support Quality and continuous improvement projects
  • Understand and adhere to standards for appropriate test methods and SOP's
  • Perform any required quality and safety checks on samples
  • Performs testing in coordination with clients, coworkers, and supervision
  • Escalates troubleshooting to client
  • Accurately report and record test data
  • Report safety, instrument and technical issues
  • Prepare a variety of equipment for testing
  • Prepare stock solutions
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of current methods and products
  • Follow guidelines set forth with clients and company policies
  • Comply with clients and company management systems
  • Adhere to the requirements of the client's Quality System
  • Perform testing independently
  • Identify and escalate issues
  • Prepare written technical reports
  • Perform basic data analysis
  • Assist with training if requested
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule if needed

Requirements

  • Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in science
  • A microbiology degree, prior experience in a microbiology laboratory, and/or experience with aseptic technique, preferred

  • Perform microbial and particulate monitoring of clean rooms throughout the facility. May be responsible for overseeing daily workflow of assigned area
  • Performs weekly Real Time Risk Assessments (RTRA) to identify potential contamination issues in cleanrooms
  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations as required
  • Maintain regulatory compliance through established programs for lab testing, training, SOPs, and validation
  • Write and execute validations for manufacturing processes and laboratory instruments and methods
  • Work on special projects / protocol testing that involves new methods and instrumentation. Complete all testing, including special project / protocol testing in a timely and appropriate manner
