Job Description:

HSBC is seeking an L2 Python Production Support Engineer to provide global production support, problem management, and technical leadership. The role involves supporting critical applications, implementing recovery strategies, ensuring service availability, coordinating projects, and addressing automation challenges. The position emphasizes collaboration and following a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to critical applications while minimizing the impact of incidents in the operating environments
  • Batch monitoring, incident management, problem solving
  • Execution of Disaster Recovery tests and support user requests and UAT environment tests
  • Provide technical leadership and consultation
  • Implement strategies to address automation, productivity and infrastructure problems and issues
  • Plan and coordinate test and identify preventative opportunities
  • Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation, and implementation of the systems
  • Analyse vendor solutions and coordinate technology, productivity, and performance initiatives
  • Coordinate activities of assigned personnel and projects
  • Control project risks and impact on business and strategic plans
  • Manage large or critical projects to ensure objectives are met on time and within cost
  • Assist in defining and delivering global and strategic technical projects
  • Participate in Major Incident Reviews and Service Improvement Programs
  • Undertake change implementations and the risk analysis of changes to meet improved platform goals
  • Oversee the resolution of problems and incidents of varying complexity
  • Ensure achievable migration plans are in place taking due consideration of existing service requirements

Requirements:

  • +5 years of experience at Production Support in Global Companies preferably in follow the sun schedules
  • Advanced Conversational English Proficiency +C1
  • Linux server administration with exposure to shell scripting (Bash/Korn/Ash)
  • Oracle PL/SQL Database
  • Python scripting
  • Scheduling tools such as Control M operative level
  • Automatic Monitoring Tools such as Splunk / AppDynamics / (Other monitoring tools)
  • Agile Tool Sets – Continuous Integration/Delivery
  • Proficient in IT service recovery and quality management disciplines
  • Good understanding of ITIL Methodologies (Incident Management, Event Management, Service Request fulfilment etc.)
