We are seeking an experienced L2/L3 Support Engineer to provide on-site support for a client in NYC. The role has two components: (1) day-to-day end-user and infrastructure support, and (2) hands-on facilitation of an office move, including meticulous labeling of all network and server equipment and creation of a complete network diagram and port mapping to support relocation. The client maintains rigorous security compliance requirements that must be upheld at all times.
Job Responsibility
Provide L2/L3 day-to-day support for end users and infrastructure
Inventory and diligently label all switches, servers, NAS devices, firewalls, and other appliances ahead of the office move
Create accurate network diagrams and port/cable mappings to facilitate teardown and reinstallation
Assist with physical decommissioning, transport prep, and reinstallation of equipment
Terminate and test network cabling (RJ45 and keystone) as needed
Document all work clearly and consistently
Operate within client security and compliance policies without exception
Coordinate with and take direction from the MSP team while working autonomously on-site
Requirements
Proven experience in networking, firewalls, switching, and server administration
Strong written and verbal communication
disciplined documentation habits
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs
Comfortable working on a ladder
Hands-on competency terminating network cabling (RJ45 and keystone jacks)
Punctual, reliable, and security-driven
Able to work autonomously while remaining coachable and managed by the MSP team
