This role sits within a global People & Organizational Development function and plays a critical role in strengthening leadership capability, organizational effectiveness, and talent development across the North Asia region (including Japan and Korea). The Senior Manager will design, deliver, and scale learning and organizational development initiatives that build skills, mindset, and capability across both corporate and retail teams.This position reports to the Senior Director of People & Organizational Development, APAC.
Job Responsibility:
Support the design, customization, and delivery of current and future leadership and manager development programs for corporate and retail populations
Develop tailored learning solutions to address capability gaps and business priorities at both individual and team levels
Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions in Japanese and English
Manage external learning vendors for open enrollment and team-based programs as required
Administer and track learning programs through LMS / Workday platforms
Support the rollout and ongoing management of digital and e-learning initiatives
Design and facilitate organizational development initiatives, including team effectiveness, organizational design, and other OD interventions
Support enterprise change management efforts, including ownership of core change management frameworks and curricula
Evaluate and measure the business impact of development and OD initiatives
Apply best practices to create scalable programs, tools, and resources
Partner with global People & Organizational Development colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency across regions
Build strong relationships with Talent teams and HR Business Partners to understand and address evolving business needs
Work closely with key stakeholders in the North Asia region to ensure successful delivery of global and regional initiatives
Requirements:
Native-level Japanese and business English proficiency
must be able to facilitate training in English (Korean language skills are a plus)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, and/or Change Management
Experience supporting multiple countries or markets is preferred
exposure to the Korea market is an advantage
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Strong knowledge of industry trends and best practices in learning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness
Proven ability to manage complex programs within matrixed, global organizations
Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders
Comfortable working in fast-changing, ambiguous environments with a growth mindset
Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and influencing skills
Demonstrated consultative, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
Certification in assessment tools or development methodologies (e.g., MBTI, DiSC, StrengthsFinder, Situational Leadership) is a plus
Nice to have:
Korean language skills are a plus
Experience supporting multiple countries or markets is preferred
