The project will position almshouses as the gold standard in community-driven charity-led housing by showcasing their social and wellbeing benefits, raising awareness, and strengthening government support for almshouses. Interviewing and engaging with a range of stakeholders, including almshouse residents, you will enable a step-change in the perception and support for almshouses, across a broad range of stakeholders including local authorities, government, and philanthropists. The overall aim of the project is to ensure almshouses are recognised as the exemplar form of community-led housing and expand their reach across the UK in areas of greatest housing need and be accepted as part of the governments housing strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project between University of Suffolk and The Almshouse Association
Enable The Almshouse Association to develop the almshouse model into an agile integrated housing solution
Position almshouses as the gold standard in community-driven charity-led housing
Showcase their social and wellbeing benefits
Raise awareness and strengthen government support for almshouses
Interview and engage with stakeholders including almshouse residents.
Requirements:
Postgraduate level with at least an MSc in Social Sciences
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to, and experience of, working with a range of people in external environments
Excellent analysis skills, particularly analysis of workshop/focus group outcomes and synthesis into meaningful data
