Job Description

We are excited to be supporting a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in the Middleton area in their search for a KS4 Science Teacher to join their team from September. This full-time position is expected to run for the duration of the academic year and offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated and supportive Science department. The school prides itself on creating a positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a passion for science. The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering engaging and high-quality Science lessons across Key Stage 4, helping pupils develop strong subject knowledge and achieve their full potential. You will be supported by an experienced leadership team and a collaborative department throughout the placement.

Job Responsibility

  • Delivering engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stage 4
  • Planning, preparing, and assessing pupils’ work in line with the national curriculum
  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress and encouraging a passion for science
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Maintaining a safe, stimulating, and well-organised classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with staff across the Science department and wider school

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Two education-based references
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 4 within a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for helping pupils succeed and achieve their potential in Science
