Job Description

Justteachers are seeking an enthusiastic Key Stage 4 Art Teacher to support students studying GCSE and BTEC Art at a forward-thinking SEND school in Stockport. You will join a committed specialist team, working with pupils aged 11–16 with a range of SEND needs, helping to foster creativity, confidence, and artistic expression. The role focuses on creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment where every student is supported to achieve their potential, starting after May half term.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver inclusive, engaging lessons tailored to students with a range of learning needs, including cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, sensory and physical challenges, ASC, ADHD, and other complex requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and colleagues to create an effective and supportive learning environment
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, taking time to understand their individual needs and what motivates them
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and contribute to its inclusive, nurturing atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Essential experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with SEND, including Autism, SEMH, and a range of additional needs
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and composed when managing challenging situations
  • A strong dedication to supporting children’s learning, progress, and overall development.
