Job Description

Justteachers is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join an innovative secondary school in Sowerby Bridge. The school prides itself on fostering a culture of academic excellence and creativity, encouraging students to develop strong literacy skills and a love for literature. This is a full-time, long-term supply position starting ASAP.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Prepare students for both practical and written examinations
  • Track and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
  • Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities that promote reading and writing

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
  • Excellent safeguarding knowledge and practice
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to provide two education-based references
  • Legal right to work in the UK
