Job Description:

KS2 Teaching Assistants Wanted - North Manchester Primary Schools! We are seeking dedicated and engaging Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistants to join our vibrant primary school communities across the North Manchester area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support older primary pupils as they develop academically and socially, making a real impact on their journey through school.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing in-class support to pupils in Key Stage 2, individually or in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher
  • Assisting with the implementation of lesson plans across the KS2 curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and topic work
  • Helping to create a positive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment that encourages independence and critical thinking
  • Supporting classroom management and promoting positive behaviour and peer relationships among older primary children
  • Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources and displays
  • Liaising with the class teacher regarding pupil progress, observations, and any areas of concern
  • Supporting children during independent work, group activities, and potentially during small intervention sessions

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in UK primary school settings, specifically with a strong focus on Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) being highly advantageous
  • A willingness to attend and complete Team Teach training (provided as part of your induction, if not already held)
  • A dedicated and reliable individual looking for full-time, long-term work
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours, typically 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, during term time
  • A genuine desire to support children aged 7-11, assisting with core subjects like Maths, English, and Science, and fostering independence
  • Patience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability, a proactive approach, and a positive attitude
