Job Description:

Can you look past the data and see the unique potential in a child who is just beginning their journey with the English language? Do you thrive in a collaborative academy culture where shared planning and professional mentorship are the standard, not the exception? Are you a teacher who leads with empathy, ensuring that your classroom is a safe haven for curiosity and high ambition? Partnering with Randstad Education in the Sheffield area means gaining exclusive access to roles within forward-thinking trusts. We are committed to supporting your professional journey with tailored training, unparalleled local market knowledge, and placement continuity within the Sheffield areas. This inner-city Sheffield academy is a beacon of opportunity, serving a rich and diverse community with a focus on high-quality talk and language development. As part of a prestigious Academy Trust, the school benefits from a research-led curriculum and a strong emphasis on staff well-being, including sensible marking policies and collaborative PPA time. This is a school where you can truly "teach" and make a generational impact on pupils who are eager to learn and succeed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Curriculum Crafting: Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that prioritises language acquisition and "cultural capital" for all learners
  • Data-Driven Instruction: Using the Trust's sophisticated tracking systems to identify subtle learning gaps and implementing rapid-response interventions
  • Inclusive Leadership: Managing and mentoring classroom support staff to ensure they are utilised effectively for maximum pupil impact
  • Holistic Assessment: Providing meaningful feedback that motivates pupils, using the academy's streamlined assessment framework to reduce unnecessary workload
  • Parental Partnership: Building strong, respectful bridges with families from various backgrounds to ensure a unified approach to the child's education
  • Trust Collaboration: Participating in network-wide training and moderations to share best practices with colleagues across the North of England

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory
  • A proven track record of teaching in a diverse, urban primary setting where EAL is high
  • A deep understanding of how to scaffold learning for pupils with varying starting points without lowering expectations
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a large, multifaceted team
  • A commitment to the Academy's core values of inclusion, resilience, and high aspiration
What we offer:
  • Career Pathway: Access to bespoke leadership training and mentorship programmes supported by the Trust framework
  • Reward Scheme: Refer a friend and receive £300 in shopping vouchers (T&Cs apply)
  • Stability: Access to exclusive permanent contracts within the Academy Trust network
  • Support: Dedicated local consultant providing expert career guidance specific to the Sheffield area
