Job Description

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Seaford is seeking a confident and adaptable KS2 Teacher to provide teaching cover on both a daily and long-term supply basis. The school has a strong focus on maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, alongside promoting a positive and engaging environment for pupils. Staff work collaboratively and are committed to ensuring pupils are well-prepared for the transition to secondary education. This is a flexible supply teaching position, offering a mix of day-to-day cover and longer-term placements within Key Stage 2. For daily supply, you will deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure continuity of learning. For longer-term roles, you may take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and assessment.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Follow lesson plans for daily supply, or plan and assess learning in long-term roles
  • Maintain a well-managed and productive classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic progress and wellbeing
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of abilities, including SEND
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage expectations, including SATs (where applicable)
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
  • Strong curriculum knowledge, particularly in English and Maths
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
  • Ability to quickly adapt to different classroom settings
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Nice to have

  • Experience preparing pupils for SATs
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • A track record of strong pupil progress
