Job Description:

KS1 Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately. These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different primary school settings. You will be supporting pupils across Bishop’s Stortford and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging and nurturing learning experiences in Key Stage 1.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver engaging, age‑appropriate lessons across the KS1 curriculum using provided plans
  • Maintain a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Assess and record pupil progress when required
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to wider school life during longer‑term placements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early primary development
  • Confident behaviour and classroom management abilities
  • Adaptable across year groups and varied school environments
  • Positive, organised, and committed to delivering high‑quality teaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
