Job Description

Build the Foundation for Lifelong Learning. The transition into Key Stage 1 is where the magic of 'reading to learn' begins. We are seeking an enthusiastic KS1 Teacher (Year 1 or Year 2) to join a collaborative primary faculty. Job Responsibility

  • Lead daily phonics sessions that build the decoding skills essential for early reading success
  • Plan and execute engaging, play-infused lessons in Numeracy and Literacy that meet National Curriculum standards
  • Create a classroom culture where 5-to-7-year-olds feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate their 'lightbulb moments'
  • Use formative assessment to monitor early milestones, ensuring every child receives the targeted support they need to thrive

Requirements

  • English with a passion for early literacy and active learning
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (Mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) delivery
  • Energy and patience to manage a vibrant KS1 classroom while maintaining a focused learning flow
  • Valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • 100% commitment to Safeguarding
