Job Description

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Seaford is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable KS1 Teacher to provide support on both a daily and long-term supply basis. Long-term placements may include full teaching responsibilities such as planning and assessment.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
  • Follow lesson plans provided for daily supply, or plan and assess work for long-term roles
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom settings and routines

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1
  • Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
  • Confident in delivering phonics, English, and Maths
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Nice to have

  • Experience with phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • A track record of delivering strong pupil outcomes
