Job Description:

The Kitchen Technician role at The Westin Desaru Coast Resort involves performing maintenance and repair duties, adhering to safety and company standards, and supporting team operations within an onsite setting. Some specific requirements include a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent, a driver’s license, and general maintenance experience. The position is full-time and reflects Marriott International's commitment to diversity and overall employee well-being.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
carry equipment
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
perform all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair
light bulb and A/C filter replacement
test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, cosmetic items, extension cords, and other guestroom items
perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers
follow company and safety protocols
maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
anticipate and address guests’ service needs
assist individuals with disabilities
develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
Driver’s License
some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.

Nice to have:

Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
