Job Description:

The Kitchen Technician at The Westin Desaru Coast Resort is responsible for responding to repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining equipment and tools. The role requires basic knowledge of air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance. This position involves troubleshooting equipment and interacting with guests while maintaining quality standards.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utilities
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition supplies
perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair
replace light bulbs and A/C filters
test and repair plumbing, electrical components, and equipment
perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties
input air handler schedules and make temperature changes
follow safety policies and procedures
maintain confidentiality and protect company assets
adhere to quality standards
develop and maintain positive working relationships

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
driver’s license

Nice to have:

Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
