Job Description

Langdale Chase Hotel, which sits on the banks of beautiful Lake Windermere, has recently undergone a full and significant refurbishment and reopened its doors in November 2023. In that time the hotel has achieved 5 Star Status from the AA and been recognised in the prestigious Times Top 100 Places to Stay, ranked No.3 and North of England Hotel of the Year. We are now looking to appoint a Kitchen Porter to report to the Executive Chef and ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen areas. As Kitchen Porter you will provide exceptional support to our team of chefs in order to provide the highest level of service to our visiting guests.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the cleanliness standards of the kitchens, storage areas, wash-up areas, back corridors, canteen and goods entrance areas
  • Daily cleaning, deep cleaning and sanitising the kitchen as required and directed by the Executive Chef
  • Operating the dishwashing machine effectively and safely
  • Controlling stock levels of the kitchen cleaning materials, including cloths, bin liners, mop buckets and detergents
  • Supporting the property with ensuring any materials and waste is recycled correctly
  • Helping with vegetable preparation or other occasional food preparation as requested by the Executive Chef

Requirements

  • Worked previously in a similar role
  • Ideally worked in a high quality Four-Star or Five-Star hotel
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong work ethic
  • Good timekeeping
  • Ability to multi-task whilst working in a pressurised environment
