Job Description:

AJW Group are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support our catering operations and provide an excellent service to all employees. This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming food environment while helping to increase engagement across the team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Clean and sanitise all food preparation areas in line with hygiene standards
  • Wash and correctly store cooking appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
  • Assist with preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, meat, and poultry
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors and wipe down kitchen walls
  • Unload delivered food supplies and ensure they are stored correctly
  • Organize and maintain food storage areas to ensure safe and efficient use
  • Transfer ingredients promptly from storage areas to the kitchen as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness across all catering facilities in line with food hygiene requirements
  • Collect and deliver items around the building when required by the business

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and clear communication skills
  • A positive, approachable manner with a willingness to support the wider team
  • Ability to work independently while consistently delivering high‑quality work
