Requirements

Good level of general education to NVQ Level 2, or 5 GCSEs, grade ‘C’ or higher, or equivalent, to include English Language and Mathematics. (E)
Trade apprenticeship or NVQ level 2 or equivalent. (E)
Full driving licence (E)
Experience in fitting kitchens and bathrooms plus all types of maintenance work in both occupied and empty properties. (E)
A thorough knowledge of all work in relation to their trade. (E)
Excellent customer relation skills (E)
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (E)
The ability to prioritise their own workload and meet deadlines (E)
Basic IT skills and understanding (D)

Job Responsibility

Install kitchen/bathrooms and perform all general maintenance building work to maintain premises owned by Saffron or those they have an interest in
Requirement to perform carpentry, plumbing, tiling, etc work of a maintenance nature
Undertake building work in association with improvement contracts, minor works and small new build contracts
Carry out work not necessarily of their own trade

37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 16.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 15.30pm)
When On Call, Standby - £150 per week
Call Out Rate - paid at time and a half (double time for Bank Holidays, including TOIL where applicable)

NVQ level 2-3 in Carpentry / Plumbing or equivalent
7 or more years’ experience in your trade

Job Responsibility

Diagnose and rectify faults across core trades, carrying out multi-trade repairs and planned works to an excellent standard in occupied and void homes, and corporate/civic buildings
Deliver end-to-end kitchen, bathroom, and wet room upgrades, including strip-out, first-fix and second fix plumbing and carpentry, floor and wall preparation, tanking/waterproofing, tray former setting, sanitaryware installation, tiling, trims/sealant, commissioning, and handover
Carry out a wide range of carpentry works: door sets and linings (including fire doors where required), first and second fix, kitchen unit installation and worktop fitting with mitred joints
Carry out a wide range of plumbing works: reactive repairs, bathroom refurbishments, pipework alterations, press-fit and traditional jointing, isolation/commissioning, and rainwater goods
Complete associated multi-trade tasks to finish standards, including ceramic wall tiling and minor decorative and basic carpentry tasks linked to upgrades and repairs
Carry out fire door remedials and full installations to a competent standard
Support colleagues across trades to ensure a professional, safe, and customer-focused repairs service
respond swiftly to emergencies and high-priority situations
Use PDA to record work, materials, and photographic evidence
keep customers and the office updated on progress and any disruption
