We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support the Kitchen in delivering high-quality food services within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will assist with menu planning, food preparation, service, inventory control, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone organized, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering excellent food service in a healthcare environment.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery
Monitor food products for compliance with health regulations
Maintain courteous communication with vendors
Keep accurate records of food processing, inventory, and distribution
Ensure timely, polite service to all kitchen users
Label, store, and handle food safely
Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including equipment and appliances
Requirements:
General Catering Certificate and four (4) CXC subjects (including English & Mathematics)
OR equivalent experience, education, or training
Knowledge of food preparation, inventory control, commercial kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations
Understanding of menu planning, nutrition, dietetics, and institutional food service practices
