Job Description:

Clifton Hall Care Home (Lime Trees) opened in April 2026. Residential | Dementia | Respite | Day Care. At Yorkare Homes we believe in offering more than just a place to live – we provide a true home. Nestled in the vibrant suburb of York, our care home offers a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel part of a close-knit community. We combine exceptional care with all the comforts of home to create a space where everyone feels valued, supported, and connected. In readiness for increasing resident numbers we are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant. 40 hours per week, shifts will be 7:30am-6:30pm including weekend working work. £13 per hour regardless of age. Using fresh ingredients and produce and working with the residents to ensure they are provided with a tasty, safe, nutritious and varied top quality menu.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in kitchen tasks connected with the preparation, cooking, presentation and serving of meals and beverages
  • Ensure a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining area
  • Carry out general kitchen and dining room duties, such as setting tables, washing up and serving meals to residents
  • Report and record any important information
  • Servery duties including basic meal preparation (Toast/Porridge/Eggs/Sandwiches etc), serving meals, tidying and cleaning tables
  • May include taking meals to residents' rooms and tidying away
  • May be required to carry out the tea round
