Kitchen assistant

• Assisting the cook in the management of the nursery kitchens, food policies, organising, preparing, and serving nursery meals in accordance with the nursery menus and individual dietary requirements
• Being a good role model to the children, demonstrating patience and encouragement
• Taking all the necessary steps to safeguard children by following policies and procedures in place
• Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation

• Previous experience within a busy catering environment
• A current Food Hygiene certificate (training can be provided)
• Satisfactory, enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check on appointment and every three years thereafter

Excellent knowledge of current legislations in Environmental Health and Food Standards Agency
