Job Description:

Our tech client is looking for a high-level, Executive Keynote Speech Writer who will be instrumental in crafting compelling and impactful speeches for our client’s C-level executives, including the Chief Marketing Officer. The primary focus of this position is to translate complex ideas and strategic initiatives into engaging narratives for large, high-profile industry events. The ideal Talent will possess a unique ability to tell stories that captivate audiences, ensuring messages are authentic, insightful, and inspiring, rather than merely promotional. This is a specialized writing role, demanding a deep understanding of executive voice and audience engagement, and is vital to enhancing the client’s presence and influence in the market.

Job Responsibility:

  • Craft compelling and engaging keynote speeches for C-level executives for major industry events
  • Collaborate closely with executives, including the CMO, to understand key messages, strategic objectives, and desired storytelling approach
  • Translate complex technical or business concepts (e.g., data security) into clear, impactful, and audience-appropriate narratives
  • Ensure speeches are authentic to the executive’s voice and align with company values, avoiding overly “sales pitchy” tones
  • Participate in practice sessions with executives, providing support and making real-time adjustments as needed
  • Manage the speechwriting process for approximately 6-7 projects annually, with intensive periods leading up to major events
  • Work effectively with a presentation designer to align speech content with visual elements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a speechwriter for C-level executives, particularly for large-scale industry keynotes
  • Exceptional storytelling ability, capable of captivating diverse audiences and simplifying complex information
  • Strong ability to understand and articulate complex subject matter, ideally within the technology sector (e.g., data security)
  • Demonstrated ability to write engaging content that is informative and inspiring, rather than purely promotional
  • Portfolio of past work, including speech samples or links to delivered keynotes (e.g., YouTube)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with executives and internal teams
  • Flexibility to work intensively during critical periods and occasionally accommodate “odd hours” for practice sessions
