Job Description

A supportive and well-organised primary school in Newhaven is seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis from January. The school has a strong focus on early learning, clear classroom routines, and a positive, child-centred ethos. Teaching Assistants are well supported and work closely with class teachers on a daily basis.

  • Work within a Key Stage 1 classroom and across the wider KS1 phase to support teaching, learning, and student assessment
  • Actively contribute to outdoor supervision as part of the school's OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) provision, encouraging active, safe, and inclusive playtimes
  • Partner closely with class teachers and the phonics lead to assess progress, adapt provision, and maintain high standards in early literacy
