Job Description:

We are currently recruiting motivated and energetic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistants to join our busy supply team in Leeds. Our partner schools need supportive practitioners who can hit the ground running in Year 1 and Year 2 classes, helping children navigate the early years of the National Curriculum.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the Class Teacher to deliver creative and structured lessons
  • Leading daily Phonics groups
  • Working with small groups of pupils to boost confidence in early reading, writing, and numeracy
  • Using positive behaviour management strategies
  • Assisting with the preparation of resources

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a KS1 setting (Year 1 or Year 2)
  • A good understanding of Phonics and the KS1 curriculum
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one)
  • Two professional references

Nice to have:

Experience with Phonics schemes like Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds
