Job Description:

We are currently recruiting motivated and energetic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistants to join our busy supply team in Leeds. Our partner schools need supportive practitioners who can hit the ground running in Year 1 and Year 2 classes, helping children navigate the early years of the National Curriculum.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting the Class Teacher to deliver creative and structured lessons
Leading daily Phonics groups
Working with small groups of pupils to boost confidence in early reading, writing, and numeracy
Using positive behaviour management strategies
Assisting with the preparation of resources

Requirements:

Recent experience working in a KS1 setting (Year 1 or Year 2)
A good understanding of Phonics and the KS1 curriculum
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one)
Two professional references

Nice to have:

Experience with Phonics schemes like Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds
