In Belgium, the Group is represented by Bongo, the market-leading experience gifting brand, widely distributed across major retail chains such as Standaard Boekhandel, Club, Fnac, Carrefour, MediaMarkt, and many others. To strengthen our Retail Team, we are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Key Account Manager Retail who will play a key role in developing and expanding our retail partnerships across Wallonia and Luxembourg, within the broader Benelux context. Your Mission: You will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of key retail accounts, driving sustainable growth through proactive account planning, joint business plans, and strong collaboration with our partners. You are not just maintaining relationships; you are creating opportunities, ensuring visibility, growth, and category leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and execute account plans aligned with business objectives to achieve sales targets and market share growth
  • Identify growth opportunities with existing and new retail partners through tailored action plans (extra displays, campaigns, collaborations, co-marketing…)
  • Prospect and onboard new retail partners, from first contact to negotiation and implementation
  • Negotiate commercial terms and promotional agreements, ensuring win-win outcomes for both the retailer and Smartbox
  • Analyze sales performance, market data and shopper insights to identify trends and optimize business decisions
  • Coordinate internally with Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure flawless execution at store level
  • Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics to anticipate changes and propose proactive solutions
  • Ensure operational excellence, from product listings to invoicing and delivery, through structured follow-up and strong communication
  • Report and forecast accurately to the retail manager, providing clear visibility on results and plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (min. 2years in key account management, ideally in retail)
  • Motivation and drive are key
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, able to turn opportunities into sustainable partnerships
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability, you build plans and make them happen
  • Strong analytical capabilities and command of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Autonomous, proactive, and organized, you thrive when given responsibility and freedom to act
  • Fluent in French with a good knowledge of English

Nice to have

knowledge of Dutch is a plus
