A global industrial and technology business supplying complex power, electronics and industrial solutions is strengthening its UK commercial team to support a major automotive OEM. The organisation already has an established global relationship and is now building a more structured, long-term presence in the UK, starting with a flagship automotive account. The focus is on EV, powertrain and wider industrial programmes, with opportunities measured in years rather than quarters. This role offers genuine strategic account ownership, senior stakeholder exposure and the chance to build a cornerstone OEM relationship rather than inherit a transactional sales patch.
Job Responsibility:
Ownership of a flagship automotive OEM account within the UK
Development and execution of a structured account plan aligned to EV, powertrain and manufacturing roadmaps
Building senior relationships across engineering, procurement, programmes and management
Identifying opportunities early in the programme lifecycle rather than responding only to RFQs
Leading commercial activity including proposals, pricing, negotiations and contracts
Coordinating internal technical, product, delivery and leadership teams
Maintaining a regular on-site presence to build credibility and influence
Requirements:
Proven experience owning one or two major OEM or Tier 1 accounts (JLR, VW Group, BMW, Stellantis or similar)
Automotive experience, ideally within EV, powertrain, electronics or industrial systems
Background from a Tier 1 supplier, industrial automation business or technology vendor selling into OEMs
Experience managing multi-million, long-cycle programmes rather than short-term transactions
Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial functions
A commercially disciplined, structured approach to account management
