Seacoast Classical Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Newton, New Hampshire, dedicated to academic excellence through a classical education. The academy seeks dedicated educators to serve as K–5 Classroom Teachers who share a commitment to classical education and to forming scholars of strong moral character and sound intellect. In SY26-27, we’ll have two sections each for grades K, 1, 5, and one section each for grades 2, 3, 4.
Job Responsibility
Plan and teach content-rich, language-rich lessons aligned with the Hillsdale K–12 Program Guide
Provide clear, structured instruction rooted in time-tested practices of classical education
Maintain a classroom environment marked by decorum, studiousness, and respect
Uphold high expectations for scholarship and behavior consistent with school policies and the classical model
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student academic progress and character development
Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to strengthen instruction and school culture
Participate in professional development, coaching, and independent study to deepen subject knowledge and teaching practice
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any field
Demonstrated commitment to the mission and virtues of Seacoast Classical Academy
Ability to model high moral character and cultivate virtuous habits in scholars
Strong organizational, communication, and classroom leadership skills
Willingness to receive feedback and implement coaching in pursuit of instructional excellence
Commitment to professional development
Willingness to implement curricular components such as Literacy Essentials and Singapore Math with fidelity
Nice to have
Broad intellectual curiosity and a well-read knowledge of history, literature, and the liberal arts
Familiarity with classical education or the Hillsdale K–12 curriculum
Experience with evidence-based literacy instruction
Training in Orton-Gillingham phonics instruction or Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) methodology
